Use Your Financial Skills to Help New York City Nonprofits

Help New York Cares' nonprofit partners plan for long-term success through sound fiscal management.

Financial Management for Nonprofits ProgramNonprofits are facing the most challenging financial environment in recent memory and many are in need of systems and tools to better navigate budgets, audits, and fiscal reporting. We're ready to help.

Join a team of skilled New York Cares volunteers on an initiative to help New York City's nonprofits better respond to the rapidly changing economy.

Financial Management for Nonprofits Program

We'll be running six multi-session committed projects from May to October 2010 that will pair volunteers skilled in budgeting, auditing, or fiscal reporting with New York City nonprofits that have identified specific projects on which they would like to work.

You will receive 12 hours of customized training from our partner Fiscal Management Associates, LLC (FMA) to develop the specific skills needed. FMA are experts in providing services and trainings that meet the fiscal management needs of community-based organizations. Commit up to four hours per week on your project, for six to 10 weeks, either at the nonprofit organization or on your own.

If you have financial experience and are interested in volunteering on these projects, contact Carol Chang with questions or to request the volunteer assessment survey.
