  New York Cares Day 2010

Paint a brighter future for New York City public school students on New York Cares Day.

Each fall, New York Cares brings thousands of volunteers to 100 schools for the city's largest day of volunteer service – 7,000 volunteers ensure that students throughout the five boroughs have inspiring learning environments by painting colorful murals, refreshing classrooms, organizing libraries, and brightening up playgrounds.

  50,000 for New York City Campaign

To support Mayor Bloomberg's blueprint for increased volunteerism, NYC Service, New York Cares launched a campaign in April 2009 to mobilize 50,000 New York Cares volunteers to strengthen our city in the next year.

50,000 for New York City kicked off during National Volunteer Week 2009 with New York Cares' largest-ever new volunteer orientation in Council Chambers at City Hall and runs through April 2010. Learn more about the campaign here.
