Internships:

Corporate Relations Director

Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director - External Affairs, the Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for overseeing and significantly growing New York Cares' portfolio of corporate donors and the related annual corporate revenue goal ($2.4 million in FY11).


Annual Events Manager

The Annual Events Manager is part of a 5-person team that is collectively responsible for planning, organizing, executing and evaluating all of the Annual Events at New York Cares. The four events consist of two serve-a-thons, Hands On New York Day in the spring and New York Cares Day in the fall, and two holiday programs, Winter Wishes for Kids and Families and The New York Cares Coat Drive.


Community Outreach Manager

Reporting to the Director of Volunteer Relations, the Community Outreach Manager is responsible for working alongside the Volunteer Relations Manager and Assistant to grow our presence in the outer boroughs, as well as implementing creative strategies for engaging a diverse group of volunteers in service.


Multi-Media Design and Production Manager

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Director, the Multi-Media Design and Production Manager produces communication materials that clearly speak to New York Cares' targeted audiences, maintains the organization's brand, stays within predetermined budgets, and meets designated deadlines.


Community Programs Intern

Reporting to the Community Programs Officer, the Fall Intern will focus primarily on assisting the Community Programs department with a variety of on-going projects. Community Programs plans a wide variety of volunteer projects, including arts, sports, and culinary programming for children; activities for seniors; murals in public schools and community centers; walking dogs and socializing cats in animal shelters; and serving meals in soup kitchens. Interns will assist with data entry and other administrative tasks, updating scavenger hunts for Urban Adventure field trips, checking project supplies, and other work to support programming within the department. Interns should be prepared to travel throughout the five boroughs.


Corporate Service Intern

Reporting to the Corporate Service Officer, the Corporate Service Intern provides broad-based support to the Corporate Relations Department in the office and during corporate service projects. New York Cares' Corporate and Foundation Relations Department manages all aspects of corporate, foundation, and government partner relationships including the planning of customized volunteer service projects, and is also responsible for raising more than half of the organization's total budget through corporate donations and grants.


Development Intern – Summer 2010

Reporting to the Manager of Individual Giving and Special Events, the Development Intern provides broad-based administrative, research, and fundraising event support to the New York Cares' Development Department. The internship will be anchored by projects related to three major fundraising events.


Foundation and Government Relations Intern

New York Cares' Corporate and Foundation Relations Department manages all aspects of corporate, foundation and government partner relationships including the planning of customized volunteer service projects, and is also responsible for raising more than half of the organization's total budget through corporate donations and grants. Reporting to the Foundation and Government Relations Officer, the Foundation and Government Relations Intern will assist with various research, writing, and administrative tasks.


Graphic Design Intern

The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Marketing and Communications Department in the production and maintenance of a diverse range of print and web materials that are essential to the organization's outreach, funding, and image. This involves producing communication materials that clearly speak to an intended audience, maintaining the organization's brand, staying within a predetermined budget, and meeting designated deadlines. The internship provides a great opportunity to gain exposure to the differences between the classroom and the real world production process from concept to final delivery.


New Media Intern

The Marketing and Communications Department produces a diverse range of materials that are essential to the organization's outreach, funding, and image. Reporting to the Online Marketing Manager, the New Media Intern will assist in efforts to monitor and maintain the New York Cares brand on the Web, including social networking initiatives, research into digital media trends and strategies, the maintenance of our Web site, and the production of a monthly online traffic report.
