Jane Tucker: Swimming Coach

For 10 years, Jane has shown an unwavering commitment to New York Cares' swimming projects. Once or twice each month, she spends a Sunday afternoon teaching children from Stanley Isaacs Neighborhood Center to swim.

These children typically come from single parent or grandparent households where chronic underemployment, public assistance and the struggle to make ends meet are the way of life. Jane, and the team of volunteers she leads, help to keep the children, safe, healthy and happy both in and out of the water.
