New York Cares is a Proud Member of:
Partnerships
ARC/GNY provides immediate aid to people affected by emergencies, including fires, floods, building collapses, and blackouts. We work with ARC/GNY to mobilize volunteers for recovery in the event of a disaster.
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs that engage more than 50,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members play a vital role in managing the New York Cares Youth Service Clubs and ongoing volunteer programs.
We support NYC Service, Mayor Bloomberg's initiative to increase volunteerism in New York City, through our pledge to engage 50,000 volunteers in the coming year. Through this initiative, NYC Civic Corps members also enable us to start and manage new programs that serve the city by fulfilling critical roles in program development and volunteer recruitment and retention.
New York Cares is also a member of:
- Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD)
- Citizen Corps Council
